Kappa Phi Omega Chapter History
The Kappa Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was chartered on May 1, 1976, in Florence, AL. The following

After three years of existence, Kappa Phi Omega welcomed its first line of five pearls. In 1979, following
were initiated:

In its almost fifty years, Kappa Phi Omega has continued to add pearls to her strand through
reactivations, transfers and initiations. In addition to the first line in 1979, Kappa Phi Omega added through
the following initiations: ten pearls in 1982, fifteen pearls in 1993, ten pearls in 1997, two pearls in 2002,
eight pearls in 2017 and eleven pearls in 2021.
The founders of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated opened the door and laid groundwork that has
sustained our sorority for over one hundred years. Following their footsteps and taking up the mantle in
guiding our chapter are the following Basilei, as we continue to provide service to all mankind.
